Not too far from Highway 73 and world-famous potteries is the rural agrarian community of Eagle Springs. A stopon the former Aberdeen and Asheboro Railroad Line, this community was jumpstarted by the railroad with its first settlers in 1890. In early years, travelers stopped at the spring at Eagle Branch, which inspired the name Eagle Springs. Today, the quaint area is known for its farm-fresh sweet corn, melons, peas, and most famously, delicious peaches.
