Located south of Carthage near the intersection of Highway 73 and US 15-501, Eastwood was once a rail hub for transporting the area's lumber.  The JB Eastwood Company operated a successful timber business here from 1895 through 1910.  Cattle and horse farms and their accompanying homesteads dot the area, and today, they co-exist with new homes that are springing up, making Eastwood a pleasant hometown.
